Moving Closer to Defining San Diego Civic Solutions

Hi
Gang......
We
meet for the third time on April's first day, commonly
called April Fool Day. We are reaching a point of departure,
where this group of leaders will choose what to lead,
whom to lead and how they can collectively cause San
Diego to become thoroughly special-not just a beautiful
place with great weather. We must begin thinking as
if we were not blessed with a gorgeous bay, incredible
climate, and impressive growth. We must disabuse ourselves
of the pretentious "America's Finest City",
unless we can prove to the multitude that we are.
The human mind is the greatest "computer"
there has ever been. Why? Because it has more than memory;
it has soul. Soul is the grand sum of all of God's blessings
of heart, mind, and feelings. In addition, if there
is sensitivity, compassion, passion and reasoning--then
we have climbed the heights of our potential.
The mind is a wonderful thing to utilize, and not just
in school. As adulthood accelerates the passing years,
and attitude dictates satisfaction or impatience with
things as they are, maturity sets in and we begin to
realize or hope that we've found what we are destined
to be "when we grow up". That is called wisdom
and it knows no boundaries.
At that moment, we begin our journey to the destinations
for which we were created; our spirit soars, our reach
exceeds our dream; that's the way it is supposed to
be.
It seems to me that we have a choice of becoming, in
effect, satisfied zombies, or a special group of people
who have formed an organization based upon thoughtfulness
and action; that is when we arrive at solutions. We
are at our beginnings, but our velocity will pick up
from here and we will become a treasure for men and
women who mean to make this place our gift to succeeding
generations.
